Delete your MedRounds account

This page explains how to delete your MedRounds account and the information linked to it, including if you no longer have the app installed. MedRounds is operated by Spark Inc LLC.

Option 1: Delete in the app

  1. Open MedRounds and sign in.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Choose Delete account and follow the steps to confirm.

Option 2: Delete by email

Use this if you don't have the app, or can't sign in.

  1. Email privacy@medrounds.co.uk from the email address linked to your MedRounds account.

  2. Use the subject line Delete my account.

  3. We will confirm by email once your deletion has started.

If you no longer have access to that email address, tell us in your message and we will ask you a few questions to confirm the account is yours. We do this so nobody can delete an account that isn't theirs.

What happens after you ask

  • 30-day grace period. Your account is closed straight away, but it isn't erased for 30 days, in case you change your mind. To cancel, email privacy@medrounds.co.uk within those 30 days.

  • After 30 days, your account is permanently erased and can't be recovered.

What gets deleted

  • Your account details: email address, password, and Google sign-in details if you used them

  • Your profile: username, display name and profile photo

  • Your onboarding answers

  • Your learning activity: progress, XP, grade, streaks, flashcard schedule and quest progress

  • Your event bookings

  • Your analytics data and session replays

What we keep, and for how long

  • Community posts and comments stay visible, shown as "Deleted user" with no link to you. To have them removed too, say so in your email, or email privacy@medrounds.co.uk at any time afterwards.

  • Backups. Deleted information may remain in our database backups for up to 30 days before it is overwritten.

  • Reports you made or received are kept for 12 months after they were resolved, to keep Community safe.

  • Event hosts who received your name and email for an event you booked must delete them once they are no longer needed for that event.

  • Legal records. We may keep information for longer where the law requires it.

Delete some of your information without closing your account

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove information.

  • Community posts and comments: email privacy@medrounds.co.uk and tell us which ones.

  • Onboarding answers or other information: email privacy@medrounds.co.uk and tell us what you want deleted.

  • Analytics: turn analytics off in the app's Settings. To have past analytics data deleted, email privacy@medrounds.co.uk.

  • Marketing emails: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
